In the Central region, the cost of champignon drops. In the south and east of Ukraine the price of mushroom is stable. In the West – champignon is still not enough.
The cost of champignon in the Central region of Ukraine begins to decline in all sales channels. Today, the price of mushroom in the wholesale market of Troyeshchina fell by an average of 0.5 UAH / kg. Accordingly, the cost of buying champignon from the manufacturer has also changed. The Stolichny market is still trading first-class mushrooms at yesterday’s price. Also, today the cost of mushroom for supermarkets has begun to decline. On average, the mushroom in this sales channel now costs 1.0 hryvnia cheaper. Changes in the mushroom trade segment in other regions have also occurred. Compared with yesterday, the price of the mushroom fell another 0.5 hryvnia. In general, in Ukraine today there is a decrease in demand for mushroom. According to market participants, the decrease in the cost of mushroom in the Central region is associated with an increase in the supply of this product due to the return of mushrooms produced by small farms to the market. In addition, according to mushroom producers, the price was influenced by such a factor as a decrease in the purchasing power of the population. Be that as it may, in the near future a further increase in the supply of products is expected in the mushroom market of the Central region. Given these two factors, it is worth noting that if consumer demand for champignon does not resume in the near future, the price, following the laws of the market, may drop significantly.
In Western Ukraine, the amount of champignon is still not high, which allows its price to remain at a stable high level. In the wholesale market of Shuvar, the cost of the mushroom was set at yesterday’s mark, as well as the price for the producer. The price of mushrooms for supermarkets has also not changed. According to manufacturers, the further development of the situation with the price of mushrooms in the region will not be easy to predict. But provided that the demand for mushroom products is not particularly high, it can be assumed that if more mushroom appears on the market, the price may change significantly.
In the south of Ukraine, the price of champignon is at the same level. The level of mushroom consumption in the region is stable and does not show any particular growth dynamics; the amount of champignon is sufficient. In this regard, according to manufacturers, in the near future the region will not particularly need champignon brought from other regions.
In the East, today there are no significant changes in the price and level of demand for champignon. It is worth noting that at the moment, consumer demand for champignon in the region has not increased. However, mushroom growers are still inclined to count on its growth this weekend.
