Mushroom price reduction today is observed in all regions of Ukraine without exception. In the South, such producer actions, they said, led to an increase in champignon sales. In the West, stocks of mushrooms in supermarkets began. Mushroom producers of the Central region decided to take control of the sales situation.
The situation with champignon sales in the Central region of Ukraine seems to have escalated to the limit. Wholesale buyers of the markets of Kiev Stolichnoye and Troeshchyna, who are trying to restrain the price drop for the mushroom, releasing it at 12.0-13.0 UAH / kg, today are faced with a manifestation of extreme misunderstanding on the part of the mushroom producers, who, in turn, have not been in a few days may not only sell their products at low prices, but even give them up for sale. In this connection, some mushroom producers, in order to get out of this situation, decided to sell mushrooms on their own near the Troyeshchina market at prices ranging from 8.0 to 11.0 UAH / kg. On other sales channels, the situation is calmer. Supermarkets continue to buy mushrooms at prices up to 18.0 UAH / kg. In addition, the supply of fungus to the regions was resumed in small volumes. The price of champignon in this segment sometimes reaches 12.0 UAH / kg.
At the Shuvar market per kilogram of good mushroom, sellers ask for an average of 15.0 hryvnias, while from farms, mushrooms are taken at 13.0-14.0 UAH / kg. The price of champignon for supermarkets so far remains unchanged and remains at the level of 18.0 UAH / kg. However, some manufacturers who supply their products online say that the price of a mushroom sometimes drops to UAH 16.0 / kg.
In addition to the expected decrease in the price of mushrooms for supermarkets by 2.0 hryvnias to the level of 23.0 UAH / kg, the lower threshold for the price of champignon for the wholesale buyer has also decreased significantly (by 3.0-4.0 hryvnias below the yesterday’s border). Today, mushroom producers supply their products to the markets at 18.0-22.0 UAH / kg. Nevertheless, such a step, according to market participants, will lead to an increase in sales of champignon in the region.
The decline in prices affected the eastern region of the country. On average, the price of champignon for all sales channels fell by 2.0 hryvnia per kilogram for the region as a whole. In some large cities, due to the appearance of a large number of mushrooms on sale, its cost varies in the range from 8.0 to 15.0 UAH / kg. In the region’s supermarkets, mushrooms are sold at prices not lower than 18.0 UAH / kg.
