Slightly more than 1.5 tons of mushroom has been exported from Ukraine in 2015, and virtually all of this amount went to Moldova. Half ton of the fungus – is the daily sale of one large supermarket in Kiev, so that when such a figure mushroom exports from Ukraine is possible to say that the exports from Ukraine is not the fungus.
Today in Ukraine the price for champignon almost the lowest in the world, Ukraine is surrounded by countries where prices are significantly higher. And, apparently, there are opportunities for export. Yes, completely denied access to the huge Russian market, but there are a number of Belarus, Moldova, Hungary, Poland, Romania. Even the average price in Poland – the leader in Europe, far exceeds the price at which sells Ukrainian mushroom producers.
Ukrainian farmers mushroom growers are constantly coming requests from foreign buyers or intermediaries to purchase mushroom for export. And the main reason why the Ukrainian mushroom is still exported remain the same: small batches and not always acceptable quality. Adding to this fear of contact with customs procedures, Ukrainian producers prefer to leave the demands of customers without attention.
But exports – is the only way to rapidly and dramatically expand the size of the domestic production. And as long as the resource components enable to keep the production cost at a low level – it must be used.
We will definitely talk about exports at the conference ” Ukrainian mushroom production: the path to stability” , which will take place 6-8 October 2016 in Odessa.
