As reported by the agency ITAR-TASS,Russia may introduce rules for Ukrainian agricultural products, similar to imports from the EU, due to the risks for Russian consumers. This is stated in the message of the Federal Service for Veterinary and fitosanirnomu RF Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor). “During the consultations, the Ukrainian side was given a warning about the possibility of applying to the Ukrainian export access rules, similar to those that apply to the admission of goods from the EU”, – said in a release. This approach will meet the basic WTO principle of non-discrimination, mentioned in the Russian department, because at the moment the goods are exported from Ukraine to the Russian Federation under the simplified procedure applicable to the CIS countries. Ukrainian products should not take precedence over the goods from the EU, according to Rosselkhoznadzor.
