recently the trend has been a decrease in the prices for champignon supermarkets – in comparison with other distribution channels prices.
Now the vast majority of retailers have concluded contracts with the direct producers of the fungus, and even non-chain stores prefer to work directly with the producers. mushroom producers have discovered, in turn for yourself the benefits of networking: large and stable volumes, higher price, the ability to sell the goods with added value (pre-packaging, sliced).
As a result, competition for manufacturers retailers intensified and resulted in a relative decline in prices in this channel implementation. For example, 4-5 years ago, the price difference between the implementation of the wholesaler, pick up a mushroom farm and a retail network could be up to 10 hryvnia per kilogram, but today it is usually no more than 4-5 USD, and in some cases even become negative, ie, supermarket receives mushrooms cheaper than the wholesaler. And this despite the fact that the sale to retailers producers are a number of additional costs, the packaging, the delivery, “bonuses” networks, deferred payment, the need to ensure the uniformity of supply. These additional costs for the manufacturer are from 2 to 5 hryvnia per kilogram of mushroom.
Thus with supermarkets is almost can not work mediators – the difference between the price at which you can buy mushrooms from the manufacturer and the price at which they bought mushroom supermarket is not enough to cover costs. Moreover, even for some manufacturers work with supermarkets, if you do not take into account the volume and stability, to become not so profitable.
But the volume and stability – not an empty phrase, and manufacturers are willing to fight for them. Including the price reduction. For example today in many regions of the price at which to buy mushroom supermarkets, almost equal to the price for the wholesale trade. For example, in Kiev at a selling price to wholesalers 20 UAH / kg, supermarkets buy mushrooms at prices ranging from 20 to 23 UAH / kg, in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Odessa, price to wholesalers and supermarkets is almost identical – to the level 22-23 UAH / kg.
Estimated information agency UMDIS through Ukrainian supermarkets sold about 15 tons of fresh mushrooms a year, up to 30% of domestic production and 50% sales volumes of the fungus fresh end consumer.
